Your fantasy team earns points based on real bout results during a Grand Sumo Tournament (basho). Each win, kinboshi (gold-star upset by a maegashira against a yokozuna), and special prize awarded by the Japan Sumo Association contributes to your total. The full scoring breakdown is available inside the app under the Scoring Guide.
When can I edit my team?
You can build and edit your team during the banzuke phase (after the official ranking is released and before Day 1 of the tournament). Once Day 1 begins, teams are locked for the duration of the 15-day basho.
What happens if a wrestler I picked withdraws (kyujo)?
If one of your wrestlers withdraws from the tournament, they stop earning points from that day forward. You will receive a push notification (if enabled) so you know. Withdrawn wrestlers cannot be replaced mid-tournament.
How often does the app update with live results?
The app ingests official bout results once per day after the tournament day ends in Japan (approximately 18:30 JST / 9:30 UTC). Leaderboards and team totals refresh shortly after.
Is there a cost to use Sumo Fantasy?
No. Sumo Fantasy is free to use. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no gambling features.
How do I delete my account?
You can request account deletion directly from the in-app Profile screen, or via the Delete Account page.
Which devices are supported?
Sumo Fantasy runs on iOS 14.0 or later (iPhone) and Android 8.0 or later. Tablets are supported in portrait orientation.
